postpartum depression aka postnatal depressionDepression is a complex mental illness and a number of events can trigger it in our lifetime. Postpartum depression is triggered by having a baby, or more specifically, the chemical and hormonal changes in the body which happen when you have a baby. The symptoms, as with most types of depression, usually include a low feeling, disinterest and change in sleep patterns or appetite. Luckily, due to the nature of the depression, seeing a profession and receiving a diagnosis is straightforward.
